- Erie Fire House
Erie Fire House
Explorers toured the Fire House on 12th and Sassafras on May 8, 2007.
We learned:
- Every family should have a fire escape plan that includes how to get out of the house and where to meet.
- There should be a working smoke detector in every room of the house.
- In the event of a fire, feel all doors before opening them. If they're hot, find another way out.
- Stay low to keep under the smoke when escaping.
- If you are trapped in an upstairs bedroom, stuff a sheet under the door to keep the smoke out and open a window to let the firemen outside know where you are.
- Stop, drop and roll if your clothes catch fire.
- Never go back into a burning building.
