Erie Fire House

Explorers toured the Fire House on 12th and Sassafras on May 8, 2007.

Every family should have a fire escape plan that includes how to get out of the house and where to meet.

There should be a working smoke detector in every room of the house.
In the event of a fire, feel all doors before opening them. If they're hot, find another way out.
Stay low to keep under the smoke when escaping.
If you are trapped in an upstairs bedroom, stuff a sheet under the door to keep the smoke out and open a window to let the firemen outside know where you are.
Stop, drop and roll if your clothes catch fire.
Never go back into a burning building.
