Hurry Hill Farms Maple Festival
March 15, 2008
Explorers were treated to a wagon ride back to the sugar shack. Prior to entering the shack we observed sap coming right out of the tree! We even tasted the sap which was very diluted much to our surprise! We then entered the shack and received a very informative talk on how sap is boiled down into syrup. Another taste test of the final product was a must, much sweeter !
After we exited the shack, we were treated to a demonstration of how the Indians made syrup. Then we rode back in the wagon and entered the barn where there were more exhibits and many maple syrup products to purchase.
