Eriez Magnetics
How do magnets work? That was the key question for this field trip. Explorers watched an informative video about the history of Eriez Magnetics, then they went hands-on, trying out all kinds of magnetic devices. Families left with a souvenir plastic mug and a set of very strong magnets.
Science Experiment: What is magnetic?
Get a good, strong magnet and gather the following objects for your child to test:
- penny
- Canadian nickel
- paper clip
- aluminum foil
- nails, screws and nuts
- a regular fork
- a silver fork
- gold jewelery
- a piece of copper pipe
- a glass thermometer (no need to break the thermometer to do the test)
